Dakoda Armstrong Propels Winfield Toyota
to 14th Place Finish in Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (February 21, 2016) - Dakoda Armstrong and his JGL Racing team entered their first NASCAR XFINITY Series race together at Daytona International Speedway with high hopes after a busy off season of preparation.  At the end of the 300-mile event, the New Castle, Indiana native would bring his No. 28 Winfield Toyota home safely to a 14th-place finish in the running of the Powershares QQQ 300 at "The World Center of Speed".

"Overall that was a decent day," said Armstrong.  "We connected with our teammate (Matt Tifft) in the early laps of the race and both of us quickly moved up to the front of the field.  But as the race progressed our No. 28 Winfield Toyota just wouldn't draft like we needed it to.  It took it too long to really get going once things got single file - as it seemed like the air would bog it down initially.  I moved around a little throughout the race and found that the high side seemed to work a little better for us but it just wasn't enough at the end of the day."

Dakoda would start the 120-lap event from the 18th position as a result of his qualifying efforts earlier in the day.  Once the green flag flew, the No. 28 Winfield Toyota would quickly move inside the top-10.  Some varying pit strategy in the field early on would create a "see-saw" affect for Dakoda and his JGL Racing team. A long green flag run in the middle portion of the event would string out the field before a late race caution brought tension and excitement to teams and drivers.  The late race dash to the finish would once again see the No. 28 Winfield Toyota struggle a little in the draft with the checkered flag being displayed with Armstrong garnering a 14th-place finish to kick off the 2016 NASCAR season.

"While we didn't get the finish we wanted today it was a solid start to a long season ahead of us," added Dakoda.  "Looking at the big picture we stayed out of any trouble today which is always one of the first things thought about when you race at Daytona.  I am excited about this season with this JGL Racing team and look forward to getting to Atlanta next week and working on our intermediate package."

While Armstrong finished in the 14th position in the season opening event, he sits in the ninth spot in the overall NASCAR XFINITY Series drivers' standings - 11 points out of the top spot.

Armstrong and his JGL Racing team next head to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the running of the Heads Up Georgia 250.  The second race of the season will be Saturday February 27th and can be seen LIVE on FOX Sports1 at 1:30 pm ET.  It can also be heard on Performance Racing Network (PRN) and Sirius Channel 90.
