Yeley Comes Home 18th in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN. (July 27, 2015) - For the fifth race in a row, J.J. Yeley and his JGL Racing team came home with a top-20 finish on Saturday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  Yeley brought his No. 28 Toyota home to an 18th-place finish in the running of the Lilly Diabetes 250 at the legendary Indiana track.

"Once again today was a solid performance by this JGL Racing team," said Yeley.  "We were a little snug at the beginning of the race but Bones (crew chief Steven Lane) made a good adjustment on our first pit stop.  After that our car handled pretty well and the guys on pit road did a good job.  We got beat down the straightaways but overall another solid finish for us."

On a warm and humid day in Indiana, Yeley would start the 100-lap event from the 17th position as a result of his qualifying effort earlier in the day.  In the early stages of the event, J.J. would report that his No. 28 Toyota was a little tight in the center of the corners.  The first caution of the day allowed Yeley to come down pit road on lap 14.  A solid stop allowed for a necessary adjustment and the JGL Racing pit crew picked up two positions on the stop.

With the handling on his No. 28 Toyota better, Yeley would maintain his position in the top-20 for the majority of the remainder of the 250-mile race.  With a long green flag run in the middle portion of the race, varying pit cycles produced a little drama before a late caution with 20 laps remaining.  Yeley would continue on a steady pace through the closing laps and come home safely in the 18th position.

"This JGL Racing team continues to grow and make improvements each week," added Yeley.  "The guys on this team work hard every week and I really appreciate their efforts.  We still have a few things to improve on but we are getting close to where we would like to be.  We head to Iowa next week where we had a really strong car earlier this year before getting caught up in an accident."

With the 18th-place finish Yeley moved up one spot to 13th place in the overall NASCAR XFINITY Series drivers' standings - a mere 12 points out of the 12th spot.

Yeley and his JGL Racing team will set their sights next on Iowa Speedway.  The running of the US Cellular 250 will be Saturday August 1st and can be seen LIVE on NBC Sports Network at 8:00 pm ET.  It can also be heard on Motor Racing Network (MRN) and Sirius Channel 90.
