FAS Lane Racing Announces blu Cigs Sponsorship for Coca-Cola 600
MOORESVILLE, NC. (May 26, 2011) – FAS Lane Racing announced today they have acquired sponsorship from blu Cigs for this weekend’s running of the Coca-Cola 600. blu Cigs will feature their innovative electronic cigarette brand on the No. 32 Ford of FAS Lane Racing driven by Mike Bliss for the running of the longest race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday May 29, 2011.
“We’re proud to welcome blu Cigs to NASCAR and FAS Lane Racing,” said team owner Frank Stoddard. “We have worked hard so far this year to build this team and position it as a viable marketing tool for companies such as blu Cigs. Our solid position in the top-35 is something that has been important to us since the beginning of the season and that gives us a valuable tool to offer. We are excited about having Mike Bliss in the car again this weekend and as a team we look forward to putting forth a solid performance for the folks at blu Cigs.”
blu Cigs is the industry leader in the emerging electronic cigarette market – offering a high tech alternative to smoking by mimicking its behavior without the smell, tar, ash, tobacco or other chemicals associated with traditional cigarettes. Based in Charlotte, NC – at the heart of tobacco road – blu Cigs is the only e-cigarette provider whose ingestible contents are 100% made in the USA.
“This is very exciting and we are happy to be associated with a quality high profile team such as FAS Lane Racing,” stated Jason Healy, founder of blu Cigs. “We feel that the NASCAR environment is a perfect match for our product and what better platform to debut at than our home track here in Charlotte. All of us at blu Cigs will be cheering on Mike Bliss and the FAS Lane Racing team and we look forward to a great race by the No. 32 blu Cigs Ford.”
FAS Lane Racing currently sits 33rd in the ever important owners points standings and is coming off a solid 25th place finish last time out at Dover. The team has used a variety of veteran drivers so far this season with a best finish of 15th in the season opener in Daytona with former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Terry Labonte behind the wheel.
“It is always neat to welcome new sponsors to the sport and one as unique as blu Cigs is really cool,” added Bliss. “The sport of NASCAR has always been a great supporter of the cigarette industry and that is why it was the Winston Cup for so many years. Frank (Stoddard) and his FAS Lane Racing team have built something really special from scratch this year and I appreciate the opportunity to drive their Cup car once again. We had a solid top-25 finish last time out in Dover and I look forward to driving this No. 32 blu Cigs Ford in such a big race on Memorial Day weekend with the Coca-Cola 600.”
