STRATOSPHERE Hotel Towers over Las Vegas Truck Race

Las Vegas, Nevada (October 1, 2009) – While the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino is home of the tallest free-standing observation tower in the United States, on Saturday night the 2,444 room Las Vegas hotel stood tall with its presence in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  With the Stratosphere logo being displayed on no less than a dozen trucks for the Las Vegas 350, the 146 lap event ended with the top three trucks having that familiar tower symbol on board.

“I really want to thank all of the teams that we partnered with this year,” said Robin Johnson, Corporate Director of Partnership Marketing, American Casino & Entertainment Properties. “We have been working with teams on this type of program for approximately the last six years and Saturday night’s race was very gratifying.  We would like to congratulate Johnny Sauter for the win and his ThorSport Racing teammate Matt Crafton on another strong run.  Also kudos goes out to Jason White and his team for his career high third place finish.  We would like to think that their stay and hospitality at the Stratosphere brought them some good luck that carried over onto the track.”

In addition to the on track activities, the weekend was highlighted by the annual driver autograph session held Friday night at the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino.  The event was attended by a record setting 19 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers who were joined by Pit Boss, the official mascot of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  The event drew a large crowd who were given the opportunity to spend a few minutes with their favorite drivers and enter a drawing for some neat door prizes that were donated by the drivers and their teams.

“This was my first year participating in this program and I look forward to doing so again in the future,” stated Jason White.  “I am not sure if the Stratosphere luck rubbed off on me but with the top three drivers in the race staying there I am sure looking forward to next year.  I want to thank Robin Johnson and the entire staff at the Stratosphere for the incredible service and hospitality – it was first class all the way.”

The Stratosphere Hotel & Casino and many of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competitors look forward to next years events on and off the track as the series will visit the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on September 25, 2010.
