Integrity Sports Marketing, LLC signs Exclusive Marketing Agreement with the College Football Performance Awards
Huntersville, North Carolina (April 23, 2009) – Integrity Sports Marketing, LLC (ISM) announces the signing of a long term exclusive marketing agreement with the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) effective immediately. Under the agreement, ISM will handle all marketing and sponsorship functions of this new and exciting award system in the college football landscape.
The College Football Performance Awards, founded by former All-American and USC placekicker Brad Smith, was established with the purpose of providing the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. CFPA award recipients are selected exclusively based on objective scientific rankings.
“The College Football Performance Awards has a unique opportunity to establish a prominent role in the college football awards landscape as the only national awards organization to select trophy recipients exclusively based upon objective science” said Smith, Executive Director of the CFPA. “We are confident that our partner, Integrity Sports Marketing, LLC shares our deep commitment to the best interests of sports and that together we can become the vanguard of a new zeitgeist of objectivity and fairness in college football.”
Integrity Sports Marketing, LLC is a full service sports marketing company that has worked extensively in the NASCAR industry for over seven years. The firm specializes in developing and branding marketing programs around sports properties that utilize sponsorship and corporate partnerships.
“All of us at ISM are excited about working with Brad and the College Football Performance Awards program,” stated Brent Bushu, Partner, ISM. “We have been involved in many unique programs over the last few years, and the one Brad has developed brings a whole new level of excitement to our company. We have started working on many elements of the program and look forward to the successes that are ahead for all of us.”
Smith awarded the first CFPA trophy this past weekend to Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant. The award, presented to Bryant during the 2009 OSU Spring game, marked the first college football trophy selection based upon objective science. This weekend in Los Angeles, California, Smith will present the first trophy to a player at the “kickoff specialist” position when he awards David Buehler from USC with the 2008 Kickoff Specialist Trophy.
In 2009, the CFPA will award a total of 14 trophies in the following categories:
Overall Performer of the Year
Defensive Performer of the Year
Quarterback Performer of the Year
Running Back Performer of the Year
Wide Receiver Performer of the Year
Tight End Performer of the Year
Linebacker Performer of the Year
Defensive Lineman Performer of the Year
Defensive Back Performer of the Year
Placekicker Performer of the Year
Punter Performer of the Year
Kickoff Specialist Performer of the Year
Kickoff Returner Performer of the Year
Punt Returner Performer of the Year
“Brad Smith’s system endeavors to level the playing field for evaluating gridiron performance and as such may transform the individual trophy quest from a PR battle to the legitimate question of which athletes did the most for their teams- BCS or not", stated Gordon Marino, Professor of Sports Ethics at the University of Florida.
This performance-based college football award system presents a new platform for corporate involvement. A goal with this program is to align a corporation with each of the respective awards and create something new and exciting as a marketing and sales tool.
“We are working on some unique partnership packages that we will soon be discussing with possible corporate partners,” commented Ron Linkous, Partner, ISM. “The uniqueness of CFPA allows us to develop one-of-a-kind marketing programs that will add to college football marketing.”
